Be it white or black skin, skin care products require as components the following – Cynergy TK, Phytessence Wakame and Coenzyme Q10. All these components help in building your skin cells by providing all the necessary vitamins and minerals and hence they need to be present in skin care products if you plan to use them because, when the collagen content in your skin starts depleting your skin will develop wrinkles, sagging, etc which are signs of aging. If you want your skin to look healthy and attractive using such components is very essential.

Separate lines of treatment for black and white skin are advertised in the market regarding various products. You should not be fooled by the likes of this. You need to understand certain basic issues regarding this. The basic Skin types are sensitive skin, dry skin, oily skin and skins with disorders. The color of the skin is not the issue at all in treating skin disorders. Whether black or white your skin is skin. All these products need not treat the diseases with different treatments for different colors of skin. You will find that the basic ingredients in these products designed for different colors of skin are all the same if you compare them. From this it is conclusive that skin color does not affect the treatment given to the skin.

If you take the right steps in examining what each of these components will do, you will be able to decide on the product that is most suitable for your skin type and that will guarantee you the best results. If you want to choose black skin care products make sure that you choose ones that contain all the above mentioned ingredients and see that it suits your skin type more than the color. You need to be cautious in exerting your choices as a wrong choice will affect your skin badly.

By: Jean Helmet

Sensitive skin requires facial skin care that caters to that sensitivity. The facial care that many products offer is simply too harsh for the special needs of sensitive skin. This makes it important to choose the right products as well as to treat the skin right day and night.

When looking for a moisturizer, wrinkle cream or a cream for your oily skin, also keep in mind its sensitive nature. That doesn’t mean buying one just because it says “Sensitive Skin” on the label. That usually means that the active ingredients have been diluted or that they’ve added aloe to the mix. What sensitive skin really needs is to have a product that uses ingredients that are so pure and natural that they work well with any skin type.

There are products that use gentle natural ingredients that are affective against skin problems without being too harsh for sensitive skin. This is accomplished by using active ingredients that repair the skin rather than only providing it with moisture.

The proper facial skin care also depends on how the products are applied. There are a number of ways to apply skin creams, gels and masks. Unfortunately, most of them are wrong for sensitive skin. The rough sponges, loofahs and washcloths that are often used are too rough for use with sensitive skin.

A soft cloth that is made for sensitive skin or a soft shower gel pouf are much better ways to apply facial care products. But perhaps an easier way is to simply use the fingertips to work the products gently into the skin. The product should be rubbed into the skin gently to avoid damaging the skin and causing redness and an uneven tone.

Sensitive skin should also be kept away from the elements whenever possible. Sunlight, wind and cold can all aggravate skin of any type, but sensitive skin responds particularly poorly. Finding shade and positioning yourself to face away from the wind will keep the skin from becoming irritated.

The kind of facial skin care that is best for sensitive skin requires the right products and the right handling of the skin. The way the skin is touched by the hands and by the elements can have a big effect on the way it looks and feels. Facial care that is done correctly can soothe sensitive skin and make it feel better and look smooth and radiant.

By: Maricha Jordan

There is no secret to a natural treatment for psoriasis; it’s as simple as caring for your skin. Reading the labels of the skin care products you use and knowing the ingredients is the starting point for care for your psoriasis. For any natural treatment for psoriasis there are things that you need to consider.

You begin your natural treatment for psoriasis with a skin cleaner that is very gentle. Anything too harsh will only exacerbate the scaling and increase the discomfort of your psoriasis. The cleanser you use should be one the completely cleans your skin of dirt and makeup and does not leave your skin feeling oily.

While the majority of skin care lines do have exfoliates, many of these products are much to harsh for anyone with psoriasis or any other form of inflamed skin. Exfoliates such as those with ground up apricot pits should be avoided, while exfoliates with oatmeal, sugar, or Epsom salt are gentle enough for regular use. They are good for removing the dirt, make up and flaky skin; yet as a natural treatment for psoriasis they will not hurt your already sensitive skin.

As important as good and consistent cleaning of your skin is, you need to be equally careful when it comes to moisturizing your skin. Everyone, especially someone with psoriasis, should moisturize all parts of their skin especially the rough and dry patches. For psoriasis suffers the moisturizing will help to prevent both cracks and sores from developing.

While most of your local drug stores will not have over-the-counter products for the natural treatment for psoriasis they will have a number of skin care products that are very beneficial for helping to control your psoriasis. Skin care products with plant or mineral oils or cocoa butter can be applied topically to the rough and dry patches, if not all over the entire body, to help with itching and dryness that is so noticeable with psoriasis.

You may not be aware and it may seem strange to you, but a great natural treatment for psoriasis is coal tar. These tars come in a variety of forms and in many products, including creams (moisturizers), shampoos, gels, and soaps. These tar products tend to enhance the effect of ultra violet light (a moderate amountof sun) and are beneficial to the dryness and skin lesions.

Psoriasis suffers need to be especially careful that the skin care products they use, cleansers or moisturizers ‘Do Not’ have the ingredients of perfumes or alcohol as these will dry and crack the skin.

“Good” moisturizers for psoriasis suffers tend to be creams that are thick and rich enough to keep moisture directly on the skin and should be applied after showers while the skin is still wet. The moisturizer or lotion should then continue to be reapplied many times during the course of the day.

Now even though sunlight is somewhat good for psoriasis, too much sunlight, not to mention a sunburn, is not good for psoriasis. To much sun will cause drying, cracking and sores to the skin. With skin care for psoriasis you need to find a moisturizer with sunscreen. If a good moisturizer with sunscreen cannot be found, then you need to find a good, gentle sunscreen that is non-drying and is free of perfume.

Some psoriasis suffers find that a simpler natural treatment for psoriasis often works very well. That of taking cool water baths and adding such natural ingredients as Epsom salts, oils, or even oatmeal to the water. The resulting bath calms the inflammation of the skin and eliminates itching.

By: Mike Herman

Skin is the human body’s first line of defense, it is the largest single organ in the entire human body. It protects all the important organs inside our body from harmful and abrasive stuffs outside. Therefore, the skin deserves to be taken care of.

When it comes to skin care, there are differences among women, men and children. Even among women, skin care differs at various stages of women’s lives.

There are many things that contribute to the well-being of a woman’s skin. Nutrition and lifestyle can reflect a woman’s appearance on the outside. Good nutrition and healthy lifestyle will produce healthy skin. A good and healthy looking skin on the outside is generally an indication of a woman’s overall well-being.

On the contrary, poor nutrition and unhealthy lifestyle will generally reflect an overall poor health of a woman’s skin. Bad habits such as smoking, excessive alcohol drinking, consuming of high-fat diets, etc. will also deprive the skin of important nutrients it needs.

In general, women don’t shave their mustache, faces and chins. However, they do shave other parts of their bodies such as legs and armpits, including the sensitive parts. If you have a sensitive skin, extra care should be taken to avoid razor rash, burn or other skin irritation.

For both women and men, healthy lifestyle (good nutrition, regular exercise and rest well) lay the foundation for beautiful and healthy skin. Good nutrition will ensure that your skin receive all the nutrients and vitamins that it needs to maintain and repair itself.

Drinking plenty of water is also important to keep your skin healthy. Water helps to hydrate the skin, transport nutrients through and flush toxins out of your body.

Skin care during pregnancy

Hormonal surge during pregnancy and menopause can cause changes in a woman’s skin; pregnancy can also turn normal skin into oily skin. So, you may have to change your skin care products. Use mild cleanser to wash your face daily, also use exfoliator to clean pores deeply and remove dead skin cells (use exfoliator once or twice a week is sufficient). Continue to moisturize skin, especially around your growing tummy, to reduce chances of developing stretch marks.

Check all your existing skin care products to ensure that they are safe to use during pregnancy. Should you have any concerns, seek advice from your physician and only purchase products which are labeled safe to use during pregnancy.

Use foot lotion to massage your feet every night before going to bed (get your loving husband to do this for you). When going outside the house, don’t forget to use sunscreen to protect your skin from damaging UV rays.

By: Mei Susanti

Teenagers often have skin problems, thanks to the raging hormones that cause some pretty drastic changes in their bodies, including the skin. With acne and oily skin being the most common skin issues faced by teenagers, there are a ton of products out there designed specifically for teen skin care. It`s always handy to offset some of the problems ahead of time, though, so here are a few tips to get you started:

Choosing Skin Care Products

- Look for organic, natural ingredients that won’t irritate already sensitive skin. Most teens have sensitive skin for at least a while and harsh chemicals can actually aggravate conditions like acne.
- Skin care products that are designed for teen skin will probably work best, so look for these rather than products that are meant for adult skin, which tends to be more stable.
- Avoid using only products with astringent properties. Despite the appearance of your skin, it needs moisturizing, too. The best moisturizers are ones that have a non-oily base.
- Find skin care products that offer soothing herbs in combination with other active ingredients. Lavender, aloe and chamomile are just a few of the natural ingredients available that can soothe irritated, sensitive skin.

Daily Skin Care Tips

- Washing your face is a good way to eliminate bacteria that can cause infections and worsen acne. However, don`t wash too often and avoid scrubbing, since this can cause excess oil to be secreted by the skin and will tend to irritate it, as well, causing more problems. A good foaming cleanser is a good way to go and can be rinsed gently afterwards.
- Try not to rest your chin on your hand and keep fingers away from the face, since this can transfer excess oil and bacteria and cause zits. When you do need to touch your face, wash your hands first.
- For very oily skin, blotting papers can be useful. To avoid excessive face washing, just blot away the extra oil. If you don`t have blotting papers, tissues work well, too.
- Avoid popping zits. This spreads bacteria and though it can be very tempting to get rid of an obvious blemish this way, you`ll be better off in the long run if you use a topical treatment instead of popping it.
- If you wear makeup, never leave it on overnight. It`s important to let the skin breathe and this means washing the makeup off at night. Using a lighter application or makeup that is specially formulated for sensitive skin should help, too.
- Long hair also plays an important part in skin care. If your hair hangs in your face, it can transfer even more oil to the skin and tends to cause breakouts wherever it usually hangs. This is often the cause of “backne”, hair hanging down the back, even over a tee shirt, can wick a lot of grease into the skin. Tie long hair back and keep it nice and clean to avoid problems.

Not all teens will have skin problems, but it’s a good idea to start early with the right skin care to ensure that if you have acne prone skin [http://www.saffronrouge.com/jurlique/face-moisturizers/jurlique-blemish-cream_2] problems, they will be minimized. It`s also helpful to know what you can do once pimples and zits start to appear. Using a good quality skin care product that uses natural, organic ingredients will help a lot. It’s tough being a teen, but you can ease the transition by taking good care of your skin so it doesn’t have the chance to get out of control.

By: Amy Nutt

When it comes to proper skin care, there are many important things to know. After all, you are going to be living in your skin for the rest of your life, so keep it looking and feeling healthy and beautiful. Your skin is the most noticeable part of your body, and the best way to achieve proper skin care is to start incorporating a few important steps into your daily routine. Simply by adding these few extra steps to your regular skin care routine, you will notice almost immediate results.

Cleanse

Cleansing is one of the most important steps, but before you choose a proper face cleanser you need to determine what your skin type is. The basic types are oily, normal, dry, or sensitive. If you are not sure which type you have, it isn’t hard to find out. All you do is wash your face and pat dry, making sure not to rub because this can tear the skin. Now take a few pieces of rice paper and press on different spots of your face. If your skin is oily, the paper will stick. If the paper falls right off, then your skin is dry. If it sticks a bit but then falls off, you most likely have a normal or combination skin type.

Now comes the hard part. You have to find a good cleanser that your skin is going to respond well to. This can be particularly difficult if you have sensitive skin, because many products will be too harsh for you to use. Even if you have oily skin, you want to avoid bar soaps, as they are much too rough on the skin, especially on the face where the skin is most delicate. One of the most important skin care rules of all is to not cleanse too often—typically washing once in the morning and once at night should be enough.

Exfoliate

Another critical part of skin care is exfoliation. Regularly exfoliating your face is especially important, because it will help get rid of dead skin cells and leave your skin looking healthy and smooth. Exfoliating is simple. All you need to do is lightly moisten your face, then, using a loofah, rub a dollop of exfoliating cleanser on your face. You can use sugar or any other grainy products as well. Rub in circular motions, avoiding scrubbing too hard under the eyes because the skin there is very thin. Continue rubbing for a few minutes, then rinse off your face with warm to cool water.

Moisture

Moisturizing is the next important step in any skin care routine, even if you have very oily skin. You need to use some type of moisturizer, especially after cleaning and exfoliating the face. Moisturizers work by sealing moisture into the skin, and it also ensures that the skin is smooth and supple. The best way to do this is by using your fingertips. Dot the moisturizing cream around the area of your face, and then gently massage the cream into your face, making sure to get around your T-zone area, which is down the nose and across the forehead. Make sure that while you are massaging the cream you are using alternating strokes and never over-moisturize, as this can cause your skin to look oily.

Proper skin care is critical to looking and feeling healthy and youthful, and by taking proper care of your skin now, you will be doing yourself a great justice in the future. Your skin will remain soft, smooth, and supple, even as you age.

You can take years off of your appearance when you look for natural skin care products that are created to reduce the signs of aging on your skin. There are many different anti aging skin care products on the market today, but not all are equal. When you are looking for skin care products that will erase wrinkles and lines, you need to look for anti aging skin care products that consist of cleansers as well as serums that can take care of your entire face.

Instead of just using a skin care cream for your entire face, you need to take a look at the areas of your face that need more care. Good anti aging skin care products are those that not only consist of cleansers and toners to help erase lines and make your skin more supple, but also those that will focus on areas of the face that need more care. These include the eyes and throat as well as the face. Some areas of the face and body need more attention than others. Good natural skin care products consist of sets that allow for all areas to be covered.

In addition to looking for various natural skin care products in your skin care kit, you should also choose natural skin care products that are made from natural ingredients instead of chemicals. Many of the products on the market are filled with chemicals that are not good for the skin. Natural skin care products are safe to put on the face and are able to be absorbed into the skin without problems.

It is also important to look at your skin care type and choose anti aging skin care products that have been created for your type of skin. Dry skin and oily skin need different types of care. Good natural skin care products will be formulated for special types of skin. While most people have combination skin, some have dry or oily skin as well as sensitive skin. When you look for natural skin care products that are made for your special type of skin, you get better results.

You do not have to put up with wrinkles and lines in this day and age. Science has done wonders when it comes to formulating anti aging skin care products made from natural ingredients that can take years off of your appearance. If you want to reduce wrinkles or prevent them from happening too soon, you can do something about it. Take a look online at the new skin care products that are made for those who want to keep their youthful appearance. With a little care, you can take years off of your face and pass for someone who is years younger. By choosing natural skin care products that are made for anti aging, you will be taking a step towards looking better and even boosting up your own self confidence. Get rid of wrinkles now by getting the perfect anti aging skin care products made just for you.

Do you have an oily complexion or oily skin? If so, you are joined by millions of people who suffer from minor or severe oily complexion.

Causes of Oily Complexion

Oily skin is predominately a result of over-active sebaceous glands that produce excess skin oil. Sebaceous glands, associated with skin and follicle pores, are responsible for providing lubricating and nourishing lubrication to the skin.

Normal oil secretion acts to moisturize and hydrate the epidermis (top layer of the skin) and helps prevent drying or cracking. Over-active sebaceous glands produce excessive oil that can lead to clogged pores, trapped bacteria and resulting skin problems.

Excess oil can aggravate inflammation, bacteria build-up, acne and redness – leaving skin looking greasy and unhealthy. Bacteria can enlarge pores making them more susceptible to dirt, grime, blemishes and rosacea.

An oily complexion may be the result of heredity, heat or from irritation caused by skin care products used on sensitive skin. Though not confined to the face, oily skin is most predominant in the “T Zone” – that area along the nose leading to and across the forehead where many skin pores are concentrated.

Solve Oily Skin Problems

Oily complexion problems can be solved. In fact, there are several different options – or a combination of options.

One, oily skin toners can be used similarly to Stridex pads my kids use for teen acne. Oily skin toners often contain ingredients like Zinc PCA that is known to help regulate oil production and deep clean. Those of use with sensitive skin should be cautious using a toner, but many complexion toners also contain ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid to rehydrate and soothe irritated skin.

Two, oily face washes often combine the oil regulating properties of toners in a cleanser that increases cleansing of the skin – removing oil, dirt and grime. Many products are complimented with ingredients that kill bacteria and soothe inflammation and calm redness and irritation.

Three, in the past few years there has been an increasing shift to mineral makeup. While not the topic of this article, mineral makeup has gained popularity in that has been shown to reduce irritation and to not promote excessive oil production – as has been shown with some chemical-based cosmetics.

Controlling and oily complexion is possible with a sensible skin care regimen and products formulated to regulate sebaceous glands. Slowing oil production can lead to a clean, clear complexion and healthy looking skin.

Sensitive skin is not a medical condition. When a person says that he or she has a sensitive skin, it simply means that the skin is susceptible to allergic reactions. It can be allergic to certain products, foods or even the weather. As a result of allergy, the skin can become irritated, red, swollen or itchy.

There are many things that can trigger allergic reactions to a sensitive skin, think about the daily skin care and sanitary products you use. Soaps, shampoo, perfume, cleansers, toners, foundation, facial masks, after shave lotion, hair spray, detergent, fabric softeners and other household cleaning products can all contribute to the skin allergies. The list is literally endless.

Therefore, pinpointing what causes skin allergies may not be easy as it may take hours or even days for the sensitive skin to show the signs of allergy. Some people are only allergic to the hot weather and exposure to sun, others show symptoms of allergic reactions after eating certain foods.

Sensitive skin can also develop due to excessive sun exposure. You will tend to have sensitive skin if your skin was damaged due to excessive exposure to sunlight. This is one reason why some people who don’t normally have sensitive skin develop skin sensitivity during the winter months; when dry, cold air strips the skin of its protective moisture.

If you have a sensitive skin, here are what you should do in order to properly care for your sensitive skin.

1. Visit a dermatologist to check if you have eczema, psoriasis or rosacea. Eczema is one of the most common skin problems for children. It is a condition of dry and extra-sensitive skin.

2. Avoid products that contain alcohol, ethanol, fragrances, antibacterial, botanicals and propylene glycol. Make sure you read the product labels to find out the ingredients. All these ingredients are known as a general skin irritants.

3. Spot test any new facial products before applying to your face. Apply a few dabs behind your ears for 5 days, and if there’s no reaction, apply beside eyes for another 5 days. If there are no symptoms of allergic reactions, that means the product is safe for your skin.

4. Choose natural fabrics for pillowcases and washcloths; they are safer and feel much better. Go for 100% cotton, linen, or even silk. Stay away from synthetic fabrics that are made from Polyester or Rayon.

5. Eat a balanced diet to ensure skin gets the nutrients it needs, drink plenty of water and exercise regularly.

6. Always apply sunscreen when going out and keep your skin moist.

7. Use gentle cleanser and gently clean your face twice daily. Avoid harsh and abrasive exfoliating products.

For more information and tips on how to care of your skin without resorting to expensive products that may irritate your skin, visit our Natural Skincare Guide.

By: Mei Susanti
