People who have sensitive skin often find themselves experiencing various problems that stem from the external environment. Treatment is also difficult since their skin can react to a variety of products aggravating symptoms and prolonging the presence of unwanted breakouts, redness and inflammation. Sensitive skin care focuses on the condition through unique ways and special products.

About Sensitive Skin

Sensitive skin is defined as having thin or finely textured skin leading to heightened skin sensitivity and higher possibility of developing adverse reactions to certain irritants. Different factors such as wind, detergents, rain, sun and cold which usually do not affect people with other skin types can lead to symptoms and conditions. Some medical conditions highly related to sensitive skin are atopic dermatitis and eczema. Dry skin and skin that flushes easily are prone to becoming sensitive.

Some signs that you have sensitive skin include having adverse reaction to certain fabrics, skin care products, fragrances, high stress level, smoke, dust, heat, cold, rain and wind. You may also experience flaky, red or blotchy skin, acne or spots and lines that get worse as you age. Some food products and substances can also lead to skin irritation such as peppers, caffeine, alcohol and peanuts. These can lead to vasodilation, skin itchiness and bumps.

Preventive Measures

Effective sensitive skin care will emphasize preventive approaches to avoid potential threats and health problems. People may develop sensitivity as they age or through genetic predisposition. Sensitive skin products are available which you can quickly apply should your skin start to show signs of irritation. Use products like moisturizers that only contain natural ingredients or bio-ceramides. Chemicals and other additives in cheap commercial items can aggravate irritation.

Limit your exposure to environmental factors that irritate your skin. Wear a wide brim hat or bring an umbrella to stay away from direct sunlight. Wear gloves when doing activities like washing dishes, gardening or playing with pets. Moisturize your skin regularly and use a spray toner to moisten your face if you’re wearing makeup. Stop smoking and limit caffeine and alcohol intake.

When washing your face or taking a bath, dry up by patting with a towel instead of rubbing hard. Men should shave carefully going with the lie of the grain and using moisturizing shaving gel. Avoid scratching your skin and wear clothes made of cotton or cotton blends.

Natural Sensitive Skin Care

Going natural is vital to maintain the integrity of your skin and preventing further damage. Only use sensitive skin products that have naturally extracted ingredients. Stay away from artificial chemicals and fillers. Ceramides are not the same as bio-ceramides. All products you use should contain a moisturizer and do not use those with alcohol since these can lead to dry irritated skin. Do not use products with surfactants, coloring, parabens and perfume.

Wash once a day for your sensitive skin care. Frequent washing will only lead to dry skin and breakouts. There are cosmetic products that cater to people with sensitive skin type as well which are alcohol-free and made from natural non-irritating ingredients. Be sure to wash off makeup immediately as you reach home. Check everything that come in contact with your face such as pillows, sunglasses and hands. These should be very clean and fresh to keep germs and other irritants from transferring.

By: Paula Paulson

Today with thousands of skin products on the market, the basics of skin care can seem overwhelming. Cosmetic salespeople throwing lotions, ointment, and masks at every woman in sight does not make the matter any better. The truth is that if you want great skin, you do need to gather information on at least a few top rated skin care products that work in order to help you with skin renovation.

People today are plagued with sun damage, stress, poor diets, and air pollution, and their skin shows it. With so many skin damaging components in our everyday lives, there is a great need for counteraction. You can counteract these damaging components with great skin care facial products. One of the basics of skin care is lotion. Lotion is extremely important because it helps the skin maintain its moisture. Hydration is a key to having great skin. Skin that is not properly hydrated will become dry, dull, and irritated. Even oily skin that is not hydrated will become troublesome. Therefore, it is important to use lotion at least twice a day on your skin as a skin care routine for combating the aging process.

There are different types of lotion for different areas of skin however. People should always use a lotion that is hypoallergenic as well as one that will not clog your pores. Facial supplements tend to be referred to as moisturizers most often. Lotions for other areas of your body are usually called body lotions. Make sure you are using the highest rated skin care products on each area of your body. Body lotions are often too harsh for your face, so beware. Lotions are also broken up into moisturizing intensities. If People have dry skin, People will need more moisture. If they have oily skin, they must not make the mistake of thinking they don’t need lotion. The skin is producing oil because the hydration levels are off. A light moisturizer for oily skin is of enormous help.

Knowing about lotions, ointments, and masks will help you get the skin you desire. The most important thing to remember is proper hydration. Be sure your skin is always hydrated with lotions. You can also drink water to help your skin hydrate from the inside. If you take care of your skin, you will notice that your skin will always look radiant with Oil of Olay regenerist and fresh which is what all including the women dream of.

By: Markus Skupeika

Our skin is the primary impression we make on others. It’s one of the most valuable assets we have. It can reflect bad skin care or poor health as well. Proper care can play a very vital role in anti-aging, our health, and well-being. Also using moisturizers or products for clear skin can help.

Knowing how important our skin is, we should do something wonderful for it. Perhaps healthy habits like proper eating, using skin care products with natural or herbal ingredients, treating yourself to a facial treatment, and learning good makeup skin care are the most primary moves to take as this helps our valued possession from outer and inner sources. Note that it’s the only skin we possess, so it’s worth protecting.

3 Things To Think About

Is your skin as soft and healthy as you’d like? Sure, products for clear skin can help, but you may be harming it without even knowing it. So here are 3 bad skin care habits that you must break as they wreak havoc on your skin. Note them in order to attain beautiful and youthful skin.

Shaving Properly

It is important to note that shaving legs and under-arms dry can cause irritation, ingrown hairs and razor burn. So, to beautify the skin, softening it in the shower for about 10 minutes is worth considering. Most experts even advise this for those who simply wish to attain good looking skin. After doing it, you must apply a layer of shaving cream, foam or gel, and not soap, which will just dull the razor and invite cuts. You must shave in long strokes. And, slather on with body lotion or baby oil post-shower.

Sun Protection

It is true that walking from your car or wherever you may be to the office beneath the sun won’t be as damaging as spending hours basking on the beach. However, it is important to note that even just a few minutes of exposure here and there doesn’t mean that you can’t age the skin and get wrinkles. It does bring on wrinkles just the same. For that, you should try wearing a daily SPF lotion specially formulated for facial application. Many experts suggest brands of SPF lotion like the Clinique and Neutrogena as they have sorts that really work well under makeup or have makeup already containing SPF in them.

Ignoring Exfoliation

It is often said that one way to help reverse bad skin care is considering exfoliation of the skin to bring out great results. Maybe this is for the reason that if you just ignore exfoliation, dry, dead skin cells will start to build up on the skin, causing itchiness and rashes, especially on the unpredictable or dry weather. So, it is often recommended that you wash your skin daily with a puff, a loofah, or products for clear skin comparable to a grainy exfoliator to help sweep rough skin away. After scrubbing, apply moisturizer in order to lock in softness.

By: Ron King

Indeed looking after baby’s skin from very early on, sets the trend for a life with attractive, possibly even problem-free skin, which would be anyone’s desire.

It might sound like proactive skin care means the lathering on of lots of moisturizers and other unctions that prepare the skin for the rigors of later life. The thing is that protecting the tender skin of young children is a lot easier than that.

One thing and one thing only makes the difference between damaged skin, with a tendency for problems as we get older. That one thing, especially now that climate change is all the news, will not be a surprise.

That one thing is the damage that our skin experiences from early and repeated exposure to the sun. Now, don’t get this wrong, we need sunlight on our skins to provide Vitamin D, which we manufacture internally. We just need to be really careful.

Proactive skin care means taking the trouble to recognize that sun damage is easy to acquire, and doing something about it early on, before sensitive young skins are affected.

You see, as we cannot escape the glare of the sun completely, which would make us ill anyway, there are some experiences that can avoid damage. Much of this issue is to do with proper awareness and that then leads to the proactive skin care which becomes second nature to us.

In Australia, where they do have one of the most intense solar strength of inhabited nations on the planet (partially due to a thin ozone layer), a surge in skin cancer rates drove the authorities there to spend significant sums on raising awareness.

Their proactive skin care “Slip Slap Slop” campaign, which became so well know worldwide, is still very much in evidence today. School children recite the words without thinking about it and their proactive skin care starts very early on.

Particular care is taken whenever anyone is taking part in what the rest of us would describe as just getting on with life. The Australians have come to realize that whilst exposure to the sun for special events can quite easily be managed, it’s raising the awareness that just as much damage can be done in normal daytime activities as anything else.

Truth is that he skin is exposed to the sun when walking to and from the office or gardening rosebushes every day.

By ‘Slipping’ on a tee-shirt, ‘Slapping’ on a hat and ‘Slopping’ on some (high factor) sun screen, Australians have started to teach the world the lesson that proactive skin care is now the minimum requirement and not an action of choice.

In fact, when you are with Australians in their own country these days, they are so focused on sun-related proactive skin care, not taking care of your skin properly in the sun is almost as big a heresy as smoking – and many would say, just as dangerous.

Worldwide, we can and must learn this from them and protect ourselves, starting today.

By: Martin Haworth

Basically there are five types of skin, namely, normal, dry, oily, combination and sensitive.

Normal skin:

People with normal skin have soft and smooth texture. Normal skin have balanced amount of water and lipids. If a person has a normal skin, he/she has a very good skin. Normal skin also requires cleaning, nourishing and moisturizing. Every day in the morning, clean your face with rose water or astringent tonic. You can moisturize your skin with non greasy cream which is made up of organic or natural ingredients without petroleum by-products. After a hard day’s work when you reach home your skin may turn out to be filthy due to which you get black heads. In order to avoid that wash your face with a mild soap and apply an oil-based nourishing cream on your face. Gently massage your eyes with the cream, after 15 minutes pat your skin with a napkin. To keep your skin in good condition do follow certain steps- drink plenty of water, eat organic food, wear a sunscreen lotion to protect your skin from sun.

Dry skin:

During winter, dry skin faces lot of problems because it is very sensitive. Do not use commercial creams and lotions. Creams that have natural hypoallergenic ingredients are considered best for dry skin. After taking bath in the morning, apply virgin coconut oil, cocoa butter or shea butter all over your body. These contain some natural ingredients like essential oils, vitamin A, C, D and E and protein. Do not wash your face with tap water. Clean your face with mineral water, ice, toner, cosmetic milk. When you take a shower just spend three minutes a day in water. Use only mildest soap. Do not scrub your face. But use only a mild oatmeal soap, which will avoid irritation to your skin. If your skin has itchy spots, do not scratch over that. Apply coconut oil on the itchy spots.

Oily skin:

In oily skin you should try to remove excessive oil. Use mild soap only once in a day but wash your face 2-3 times a day. Always use non greasy moisturizers. Apply clay, papaya or yogurt on your face as it is the best mask for oily skin. Apply this for 20 minutes in a week and wash your face with cool water.

Combination skin: It is a combination of both oily and dry skin. Certain areas of your face are oily and certain dry. Mostly forehead and nose have more excessive oil and other areas like eyes and cheeks are dry. So the areas that are oily use oil skin tips and areas with dry skin use dry skin care tips.

Sensitive skin: This skin type is always very dry and irritated. Do consume a large amount of fatty acids, organic protein, yogurt and lacto-fermented fruits and vegetables. If a woman is vegetarian, they would develop very dry, wrinkled and irritated skin. Follow dry skin tips for sensitive skin.

When it comes to skin care products, you may be confused as to the many different products that are on the market that focus on skin care for your skin care type as well as specialty areas of your face. It is never too soon or too late to start taking care of your skin, especially with the latest skin care products that are on the market today.

When looking for skin care for yourself, first look to entire kits of skin care solutions. The kits should consist of cleansing solutions as well as protective creams and serums that will keep the wrinkles at bay. If you are looking for a way to take years off of your appearance, you can find it with the modern skin care solutions being offered today. These skin care products use serums that are composed of properties that are already in your skin and work naturally to restore your skin to youthfulness.

Cleansing is the first step towards skin care. If your skin is not properly cleansed, then you are wasting your time putting creams on your face. Forget about soap as it dries out your skin and also contains chemicals that can cause you harm as they are absorbed into your skin. It is essential that you choose skin care products that contain a good deep cleanser in addition to moisturizers for your face. You need to make sure that your pores are completely cleansed out when you are taking care of your skin so that you can prevent the signs of aging.

Not everyone has the same type of skin. Your skin may be oily or dry. Or it may be combination skin. You need to look for skin care products that not only address aging, but also will be ideal for your skin type. Skin care works when you address the type of skin that you have with the correct products.

Special serums that are designed for parts of your face that are more sensitive are also an important part of your skin care routine. For example, the skin around your eyes is every thin and more prone to wrinkles than any other part of your face. The best skin care products address this fact and have serums that are especially made for problem areas of your skin.

By taking care of your skin with new skin care products that are made for anti aging, you will be amazed at the results. You do not have to put up with the natural signs of aging that appear on your face if you do not want to. You can take care of your skin with skin care products that retard aging and will make your skin look years younger. By using these products regularly, you will be fighting the signs of time that creep up on all of us. Once you get into a regular skin care routine, you will start to notice positive results right away and will look younger and gain more confidence when it comes to your appearance. Fight time with skin care that is made to reduce the signs of aging and make your skin look soft and supple.

Beautiful skin often begins inside and radiates outward. All skin care is not created equally. Beautiful skin often begins inside and radiates outward. Women’s skin care differs from that of children and men, and among women, skin care even differs at various stages of life. Poor nutrition, unhealthy lifestyle choices and stress all contribute to the overall poor health of the skin. Bad habits such as smoking and consuming high-fat, high-salt diets deprive the body of the important nutrients skin needs. Women have a tendency to retain water, causing skin to look and feel more bloated. To keep water retention under control, it’s important for women to limit the amount of salt in their diets. Extra care should be taken to avoid further skin irritation, cuts or ingrown hairs. Drink at least the recommended eight cups a day and compensate for alcoholic and caffeinated beverages with more water. Exercise is also a good component to skin care.

Regular workouts keep the skin toned and make the feel good. Dry skin can be sunburned much more easily than skin that retains moisture. Moisturizing the skin on a regular basis can help to keep you from getting a sunburn. There are two effective methods to achieve this. Moisturizing towelettes can moisturize the skin, and are convienient and easy to use. Moisturizing the skin, and avoiding long term, repeated exposure to the sun are two of the best ways to protect the skin. A facial cleanser should be used in the morning and at night, especially to wash off cosmetics and a day’s worth of grime. Dry skin tends to do better with non-soapy cleansers since soap can be even more drying. Oily skin often likes soap. Like moisturizers, there are dozens of cleansers to choose from.

Skin Care Women Tips

1. Cut the lemon and rub the wedge all over your face. Leave it for about 20 minutes, then rinse off with cold water. This will refresh your face.

2. Mix honey, lemon and vegetable oil .This mixture is a good moisturiser for dry skin. Apply this mask for 10 minutes.

3. Apply the mixture of honey and milk on the face.

4. Buttermilk dabbed on skin for 15 minutes will soak up oil from your skin without drying it.

5. Carrot juice applied daily fades blemishes.

6. Mix half teaspoon dried curry leaf powder with multani mitti (fullers earth) and apply on the face.

7. Apply the mixture of tomato juice and honey on the face and neck , wash it after 15 minutes.

8. Apply the mixture of carrot juice and basin. Leave it till it dries and wash the face.

9. Add two teaspoon of tomato juice with 4 teaspoon of curd and apply on the face.

10. Add a pinch of yeast with 2 teaspoon of cabbage juice and apply.

11. Apply the paste of turmeric and curry leaves on the face and wash it after 15 minutes.

12. Apply a mixture of mehndi and turmeric. For a piece of turmeric, 2-3 leaves of mehndi are used

13. Grind betel leaf and add a little coconut oil and apply it on the spots.

14. Apply the mixture of honey, basin, cream of milk and olive oil as a face pack.

15. Apply the paste of fenugreek with milk on the face and let it dry. Wash off with luke warm water.

16. Mix thick curd, turmeric and two drops of oil. Apply on the face.

17. Crush garlic and take the juice and apply it on the face daily to reduce pimples

18. Apply a mixture of turmeric and neem on the face.

19. A mixture of crushed mint leaves and oats will reduce pimples. Leave this for 20 minutes and wash it with warm water.

20. Make a paste with sandal wood and turmeric and apply it on the face.

Celazome Skin – a national skincare company based in St. Petersburg, Florida – has an unorthodox method for growing sales… and it’s working.

A division of Dermazone, Celazome Skin has been in operation since 1999 and is a woman-owned and operated business with a long-standing mission to support business women. Recently the company became a national sponsor of eWomen Network, one of the largest networking organizations for women in the country. As part of that commitment, all purchases of Celazome Skin products by eWomen Network members generate a donation to the eWomen Network Foundation. The women of the Celazome Skin executive team also attended the recent eWomen Network International Conference and Business Expo in Dallas, Texas.

The results have been phenomenal. Not only have sales increased, but over eight thousand dollars has already been raised in cooperation with the local Tampa eWomen Foundation.

“Women from all over the country stopped by our booth to tell us how much they loved our product,” says Carolyn Veroni, Director of Business Development of Celazome Skin. “It went so much farther than simple skincare. It was about putting faces and stories to what the products have done for these women.”

With a skincare line that includes pharmaceutical grade moisturizers, lotions and treatments the testimonials Celazome has received since reaching out to the business women have been powerful to say the least. Cancer patients, burn victims and nurses from around the country have shared their experiences about how their lives were essentially transformed by minimizing scarring and reducing soreness.

Celazome President Deborah Duffey explained how the company is taking their strategy to the next level. “With the power of the Internet we are now able to reach beyond the doctors’ offices and truly connect with these women. We recently launched a state-of-the-art eCommerce store and an aggressive social media campaign. We are really focusing on reaching out to the amazing faces of the women on Facebook.”

Being a savvy business woman herself, Duffey is quick to point out that they are not abandoning traditional methods of reaching out in favor of the new technology. She says that the executives at Celazome Skin are passionate about being active community members in Tampa Bay, and have a long history of supporting local charities that raise funds and awareness for women’s and children’s issues. Most recently the team has participated in the 11th Annual Walk/Run to benefit Ovarian Cancer and was a sponsor of the Moffitt Skin Care Awareness “Mole Patrol” event.

To learn more about Celazome Skin visit www.celazomeskin.com

It’s an urban myth that skin goes to sleep at night. So let’s FACE THE FACTS.

There are a lot of reasons why skincare products need to be applied at night. In fact, it can be easily argued that nighttime products are more important than daytime, because that’s when the skin repairs itself.

During the day, skin is bombarded with wind, makeup, pollution, sweating, and all of this exhausts the cells. Why? Because the sole purpose of skin is to protect our bodies from outside insults and contaminants. So during the daytime, the skin is busy defending itself from these environmental factors. That’s why, during the day, we apply products that strengthen, hydrate and protect with skin with antioxidants (topically and systemically) and UV protectors. At night, it’s ready to get ready for another day. That’s the time when the cells renew themselves and need to be activated with key ingredients like retinol; surface repair agents, such as ceramides; and anti-inflammatory agents, such as botanicals. These all work together to create skin that is brighter, more even-toned, and hydrated.

So nighttime products are different from daytime products, because the skin’s needs are different. Many active ingredients in skincare products have a relatively short life, and are deactivated by sunlight. So the really important ingredients—the really good stuff—is rendered useless. So by nighttime, there’s no residual value. Products need to be reapplied. During the daytime skincare products are rubbed off, sweated off, washed off, wiped off. Or they’re completely absorbed. Moisturizers last only 3-4 hours. Medical treatments require application 2-3 times every 24 hours. I’m a proponent of saturating the skin with active and powerful ingredients so that it’s nourished throughout the day and night. Nighttime products are heavier, to restore essential moisture, reduce wrinkles and repair the skin. They provide what we call barrier protection—to prevent transepidermal water loss (dehydration). Then in the morning, your skin is supple, revitalized and smooth. The active ingredients used in nighttime products are better able to stimulate and up-regulate cell turnover so that fresher, brighter, healthier skin can emerge. Nighttime is a perfect opportunity for controlled release of active ingredients over a 4-6 hour period. It is also a good time to layer products which may not be possible during the daytime if makeup is to be applied overtop. Finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the importance of cleansing as a part of a night- time skincare program. Many people, I’m convinced, take the short-cut of not removing their make-up before retiring. Our faces are never covered, they’re always exposed to all kinds of environmental pollutants. Cleanse your skin, faithfully and thoroughly to remove the dirt and surface oils. It’s important for everyone, but critical for women who wear cosmetics. Sounds a bit extreme, I know, but you may even want to do it twice. It’s that important.

You may be tired, you may be stressed. But nighttime skincare is important. And it only takes a minute.

Zein Obagi, MD

Visit Us on the Web Today! at http://www.zoskinhealth.com

Or our Twitter updates at: http://www.twitter.com/ZOSkinHealth
