One common skin care practice that many people tend to undertake is the face skin care. However, without knowing, not many people conduct it in the right way. Just like any type of care given, face skin care should be done while following a series of steps which in the end should be able to give someone his or her desired results.

The first step when conducting a face skin care is to cleanse your face with a cleanser that allows your skin to respond well to. Cleansing should be done after removing any make up that you may have applied on the skin. Face cleansers are readily available in the market and should not be hard to find. While cleansing the face, avoid using bar soaps since they have been proven to dry out the skin. However, cleansing should not be done all the time as the action may increase the level of dryness on the skin as well. Therefore, washing your face at night with
an appropriate cleanser and then splashing it with lukewarm water in the morning should be enough for you. The lukewarm water is used so as to loosen any dirt content that may have stuck on the face and open up the clogged pores on the skin.

The second step to undertake when performing a face skin care is to exfoliate. Exfoliation is one important step that most people tend to often skip in their skin care routine. This step involves the process of removing the top skin layer which comprises of dead cells. For men, this is easily achieved when shaving their beard but where women are involved, other measures have to be considered. Microdermabrasion, retinoids and chemical peels are some of the options that can be used to enhance exfoliation. However, just like cleansing, exfoliation should not be done so often since this may lead to the reduction of skin complexion and in the process make your face to appear dull.

Therefore, exfoliating your face once a week especially with microdermabrasion should be enough to keep your facial skin glowing. When scrubbing your face with microdermabrasion, try to ensure that you use gentle scrubs that have tiny grains to avoid tearing your skin and ultimately cause more harm to yourself. After gently scrubbing the face, leave the microdermabrasion to stay on the face for some time depending on the specified instructions that are usually put on the kit. After the specified time elapses, you may remove microdermabrasion off your face.

The third step is usually optional to people since it may or may not determine the final outcome of the face skin care. This step involves the application of an acid-containing solution on the face so as to restore the pH balance and its protective shield. In addition, toners are also meant to remove all remaining traces of oil, dirt and makeup. In cases where oily skin is involved, astringent preparation should be used and in cases where dry skin is involved, a mild freshener-toner should be put in use.

The fourth step that should be undertaken when performing a face skin care is to moisturize the face. You should start by splashing the face with cool water or moisturizing it with a spray bottle and then blotting it but not to complete dryness. After doing all this, you should then cover it lightly with a moisturizer. This should be enough to moisturize your face since it is meant to help the face retain moisture rather than providing it with moisture.

If you are like most acne sufferers, you might get obsessed with the whole wash your face regularly and avoid certain foods thing. Although the main cause of your acne is not due to poor hygiene or eating certain foods, in so many instances some factors tend to worsen you acne conditions, leading to more pimples (zits) on your face.

Proper acne skin care helps in reducing the amounts of breakouts on your skin. A number of skin experts and health practitioners are of the opinion that natural acne treatments are the best for reducing the intensity of acne lesions on the skin and tend to recommend the following acne skin care tips.

One factor that could worsen your acne condition is clogged pores, which results in more pimples on your face. Before you go scrubbing your face a million times a day, you should know that you have to be gentle with your face. Wash your face at most thrice a day, and you should use lukewarm water. Avoid soaps that contain chemicals and ingredients that damage your skin. Try using a mild cleanser. Remember to pad your face dry and avoid scrubbing.

I know you can’t help it. But hey!!! Keep your hands by your side, stop touching, squeezing, rubbing or picking your pimples and other lesions. Incase you don’t know, doing that can cause severe acne scarring and more acne flare-ups. So simply put “get your hands off your face”.

If your are a guy, then you should be careful how you shave. Try and find out which razor type is best for your skin. Although I used to use electric razors when I had a lot of pimples on my face, but now I use “twin blades” shaving sticks to shave. Always shave gently to avoid scrapping your acne lesions, which could result in acne scars.

There is a type of acne that is termed “cosmetic acne” which is usually more prevalent in girls. Using certain type of cosmetics can worsen your acne problem or could even be the major cause of your breakouts. Oil-based (comedogenic) cosmetics are the major culprits in worsening your acne condition and you should stay clear of such. Try using water-based (non-comedogenic) cosmetics, which do not clog your pores.

If you are light-skinned (Caucasian), and you regularly sun-bathe, you might feel that a tan would look good on you by giving you a nice complexion and drying out your pimples, but you should try reducing the amount of sun exposure. When you expose your skin to high intensity sunlight, Ultraviolet rays from the sun would dry the outer layers of your skin resulting in it peeling off. Regular exposure to high intensity sunlight makes you prone to having skin cancer.

A very common argument among dermatologist, doctors and health care practitioners is whether diet affects acne or causes acne. Well there is one thing that is certain, a large number of acne sufferers know that there are certain types of foods that increase the amount of pimples (breakouts) on their face. I have noticed that there are some foods that when I take in large quantities I expect breakouts (pimples) in the next 5 to 6 days.

To prevent skin problems such as acne, white and dark spots and pimples, you should consider changing the content of your meals by including more nutritious foods. You can improve your acne condition by eating foods that are rich with antioxidants. These help in keeping you healthy by fighting heart diseases and slowing down cell regeneration. Fruits and leafy vegetables contain enough of these.

Doctors have always recommended that you take at least 10 to 12 glasses of water a day. Your water intake affects your skin’s health. Taking the recommended amount of water a day would make your skin healthier. Try reducing your sugar intake by drinking less sodas, and fruit juices. Instead take fruits; this will definitely prevent age spots and discoloration of your skin.

In addition to the following acne skin care tips that you’ve just read, you should try using an a system, which combats you acne problem from the inside and the outside. An excellent acne skin care product is the clear pores system which consists of a deep cleansing facial and body wash, protection cream and a herbal supplement that is guaranteed to fight acne inside the body.

Another very good product is Revitol’s acnezine system which also consists of a skin anti-Oxidant Capsules and a Moisturizing Crème, all to ensure that your skin is clear of acne. The acnezine system was what made my skin free of pimples. It seems the healthy pores system has so many testimonials to its effectiveness; it is also a wonderful product you can use in ridding your skin of zits.

Most acne sufferers would talk of tales of what acne did to them in terms of their social life and how clearing those little monsters off their skin has made life more enjoyable. If you suffer from adult or teenage acne, it is guaranteed that following these acne skin care tips and using an effective acne skin care product, you would have the smooth and clear skin that you deserve.

For more information on how you can permanently get rid of Adult Acne from your life and look more youthful and beautiful visit adult acne treatment a brand new blog that gives information, tips and advice on how to solve the problem of acne.

The first thing we notice about any human being is their face. Maintaining clean, healthy skin is absolutely essential for self-esteem, confidence and a good attitude about life. Having healthy skin doesn’t mean you have to spend hundreds of dollars on skin care products and make-up. It’s about having a healthy lifestyle and upholding disciplined cleansing habits that will make flawless skin possible.

Healthy Diet. By avoiding greasy, fatty foods that will make your face break out, your skin will be less oily and more resistant to blemishes. Some foods that cause your skin to break our include pizza, French fries, chocolate and most other types of candy, fast food and soft drinks. You don’t have to give up these special treats completely, just eat them in moderation.

Hydration and Exercise. Drinking the recommended eight glasses of water a day – along with regular exercise like walking, jogging, bicycling or getting involved in sports – will make a tremendous impact on the way your skin looks and feels. Exercise will increase blood flow, making your dull skin glow like new. It will also make your feel more energized and generally happier. Keeping your body in shape allows for less stress and a feeling of achievement.

Sun Exposure. Protect yourself from sun damage, skin cancer and premature wrinkles by using a moderate strength sunscreen. Too much sun can blister your lips, leaving them red and sore. Sunburned skin can peel, leaving your skin patchy and sensitive. Monitor how much time you spend in the sun and use good judgment when deciding if you’ve had enough for the day.

Regular Cleaning Routine. Cleanse, exfoliate, tone and moisturize – this daily routine should carry you on your way toward healthier skin in no time. Choose a gentle cleansing solution that works for your specific type of skin, whether it’s dry, oily or normal. Using your selected product, cleanse your face in a gentle circular motion and rinse with lukewarm water, as hot water drains the skin’s moisture.

The next step is to exfoliate. A granular exfoliant product is often especially effective in smoothly rough areas and rubbing away dead skin cells, allowing the face to be better moisturized.

After exfoliating, use a toner or astringent to tighten skin and remove any make-up or cleanser residue. An alternative to toner or astringent would be a facial masque at least once a week, which tackles clogged pores while also firming skin and leaving it soft and silky.

The final step is to apply a moisturizer that will protect against dry skin. People with oily skin don’t have to moisturize as often as those who have dry, normal or combination skin.

You could spend hundreds of dollars on skin care products and only achieve clear, healthy skin for a short period of time. A daily skin care routine, along with a healthy diet, drinking lots of water, exercising and protecting your skin from sun damage, will help you achieve healthy skin for a lifetime.

Glowing skin is one of the most attractive feature in any face, skin care is also seasonal you need to always take care of your skin based on the different seasons. It is important to note that skin care tips should change according to the different seasons. In the summer season you need to be completely engaged in protecting your skin against sun protection, on the other hand during the winter season you may completely stick to the moisturizers because of the feel of dry skin that we develop.

The skin is dry in the winter because of the fact of low temperatures, low humidity factors and the strong, harsh winds that devoid the skin of its natural lipid layer that protects the skin from drying out. To have a good feeling on your skin during the harsh winter weather, this article presents you with few of the tips:

Use lukewarm water:

It is important to remember the fact that the usage of hot water during bathing can reap the moisture content from the skin thus causing a drying affect on the skin. Incase you cannot tolerate to have the bath in lukewarm water then what I would suggest to you is that keep your showers short and sweet and take them just once a day so that you do not rip the excessive lipid layers. The hot temperature along with the chemicals that have a drying effect on your skin would land up as a big shock to your skin. You need to consider the same rule for your hands also, incase your hands turn red after washing then it is important to note that the water was too hot.

Use moisturizers:

Moisturizer is the must use option that you need to consider irrespective of the fact that you practice it often or not. It is important to note the fact that the moisturizer is the key for soft and supple skin during the winter season. To get the best results on the application of the moisturizer it is important to note the fat tat you can pat the dry skin instead of rubbing with your skin with the towel before the application.

The usage of antibacterial soaps in the public places can be really harsh on the skin so it is important that you use a mild hand wash and further for keeping your cuticles soft it is important to note that you massage with olive oil. Further the application of moisturizer along with the facial water can facilitate you with a number of benefits. First apply the facial water and then after that you can just dab the moisturizer this offers you with a very refreshing effect during the hot season.

Exfoliate:

Moisturizer is one of the most effective tools and it can facilitate you the desired results on an exfoliated skin. You can consider the usage of a scrub in the shower and the exfoliate skin along with a mild face scrub. The best time for the usage of a scrub is when the skin is dry.

Some people think that removing oil from the face is like washing it from dishes: they use the harshest soap and the hottest water to get their skin “squeaky clean”. They never moisturize, and may even wipe their skin with alcohol to dry it out. The bad news is that if you treat your oily skin with harshness, it will redouble its efforts to protect itself – it will actually start to produce more oil to cope with what it feels are harsh environmental conditions!

Wash your face, but use a gentle soap and lukewarm water, and don’t rub or scrub. Treat your skin with love and compassion, and it will respond positively. Use an oil-free moisturizer to keep your skin protected and protect it further by using a moisturizer that contains sunscreen. Keep the shine blotted down by using powdered mineral makeup, which is guaranteed to give you a matte finish without clogging pores. At the end of the day, remove your makeup with a gentle, alcohol-free toner, wash your face gently, and reapply moisturizer before bed.

Oil free moisturizers usually contain glycerin and water, and some of the best products also contain tea extracts and oatmeal. Oatmeal has long been recognized as a soothing skin care product, and when used as a mask can brighten your skin without drying it out too much. Beauty tips columns always contain the oatmeal facial mask as a remedy for oily skin. Just puree oatmeal with a little water, wipe on the skin, allow drying most but not all they way, and rinse off.

Luckily, caring for your oily skin has never been easier, since a tremendous range of products ensures that there’s something for everyone. Treating oily skin is done at two levels; prevention and blemish control. Gentle treatment, the right oil-control makeup and proper nutrition can help prevent oily skin. Blemishes can be treated with tea tree oil or one of the natural remedies including green or white tea extract (powerful antioxidants) and skin calming oils such as lavender or chamomile.

Some people think that chocolate or fatty foods can cause oily skin, and if you are allergic to a particular food, it may show up in the way your skin behaves. Chocolate has not been shown to increase skin oil or breakouts; in fact, dark chocolate contains antioxidants that are good for your brain and your body. But junk food like chips, high fat, high salt burgers and other fried foods may impact your skin as they do your entire body. If you’re a junk food junkie and have oily skin or breakouts, take a month off from your favorite foods to see if your skin condition improves.

By: Alvin Bud

How unfortunate it is when your best friend suddenly announces her wedding for the next day, leaving you without enough time to even get a facial done! For this very reason I present you some skin care tips that you can follow everyday without any extra effort and be prepared for any event and occasion, when-so-ever it may come!

To start with the basics, hygiene is of utmost importance to beauty. Taking regular baths once or twice a day with mild soaps or baby soaps, which are particularly sensitive and soothing on the skin, is a very good start. Your hairs need as much attention as the rest of you. Wash them with a gentle shampoo and keep them untangled and combed. If you are new to taking care of your hair, you will discover in just a few days how big a difference well-kept hair make to the way you look. Taking your daily bath in lukewarm water is particularly good for the skin. Applying soap to the face should be done carefully, massaging your face in circular motions and washing the lather off thoroughly. After the bath, dry your face with a towel without rubbing the towel against the skin. To finish up your bath, apply a cleanser on the face to get rid of the dirt clogged in the pores of the skin. Many over-the-counter solutions such as benzoyal peroxide work very well for this.

You may start wondering why I’m pointing fingers at your lifestyle when I’m supposed to be giving you skin care tips. Here’s why – Your skin is not just a protective covering, it is a reflection of your inner health. If you have as small a problem as acne and rashes, it indicates that some machinery of your body is working too hard or too less or without proper input. Whatever it may be, it is a sure-shot sign that your inner health is not what it should be. Changing your lifestyle does wonders to your outer beauty. The age old adage, “Beauty is skin deep” wasn’t said in vain, after all!

If your diet includes a lot of what we call “junk” food, high-sugar content or fried foods, you need to know that these are your body’s and skin’s worst enemies. In stead of these include in your diet fresh fruits, salads and whole meal breads. Coffee and carbohydrates need to be cut down as much as possible too, and proteins need to fill in for them in your diet. Perhaps the best skin care tip I can give anyone is to drink plenty of water. Water is your skin’s best friend! It flushes out toxins from your body and helps hydrate and nourish your skin. Drink as much as you want – there’s no such thing as “too much water”!

If you stay stressed, your skin will inevitably show that. Get rid of the stress now – join yoga classes. Sweating off the stress is also a great idea. Daily exercise does wonders to your skin. After your work-out, take a sauna or steam bath and relax that extra bit. Sweating makes the dirt clogged in your skin pores get flushed out and off. If you follow these simple skin care tips, you are sure to be ready for even the Oscar red carpet!

By: JD Files

Good looks may not be everything but it definitely counts a lot when you are trying to make a good first impression! Let’s face it, in these modern times, you can definitely get an edge when you take care of yourself well and look undeniably good.

But looking good takes a lot of work. It can even be expensive, to say the least. Commercial skin care products can cause a major dent in your budget and some products may even cause skin irritations. So, how can you look good without breaking the bank? Go natural! Yes, you heard it right! Nature has indeed been too good to us and has provided us all that we can probably need. Here are some tips on how two natural ingredients can work toward bringing out a more beautiful you:

Amaranth – The juice of an amaranth can be an effective skin tonic. Just add milk and lime juice and you can instantly enjoy a refreshing skin treatment proven to promote beautiful skin. To use it, gently massage the mixture on your face and neck for about half an hour before going to bed. Be sure to rinse it off completely using lukewarm water.

Combining the juice of an amaranth with a pinch of turmeric powder is also an effective skin care solution. It bleaches the skin to show off a healthier complexion, effectively prevents the formation of wrinkles and keeps the skin from drying. It can also be a very good acne treatment!

Lime Juice – Lime juice is one of the most well-rounded natural skin care products available. It has the power to rejuvenate skin, treat pimples, relieve tired eyes and give your skin a healthier glow.

Lime juice for effective acne treatment – Combine freshly squeezed lime juice with a glass of boiled whole milk and a teaspoon of glycerin. Stir the mixture well and let it stand for about half an hour before applying it on your face. Adopt this as your nightly skin care routine and you can effectively prevent pimples and maintain a younger looking and blemish-free skin! This mixture can also be used on the hands and feet as well.

Lime juice for oily and dry skin types – Lime juice can be combined with other natural ingredients to solve oily and dry skin problems. For oily skin types, squeeze half a teaspoon of lime juice and mix it with one teaspoon of cucumber and a few drops of rose water. Apply the mixture on your face and leave it on for about 15 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. Adopt this routine and you will definitely see some positive results in a matter of days!

For dry skin, add a few drops of lime juice and olive oil to an egg yolk. Apply the mixture on your face and leave it on until the skin feels dry. Rinse it off thoroughly with tap water. To close the pores, be sure to splash on some cold water after all traces of the mixture has been washed off. This mixture is an effective skin care solution for dry, rough skin.

To top it off, lime juice can also be used in removing freckles and in bringing life back to tired eyes.

There you have it – two more natural ingredients that work wonders for your skin! Just try these solutions to treat your skin problems to know just how effective and budget-friendly they can be!

By: Michael Russell
