Did you know that there are many face skincare products on the market that contain ingredients that are suspect or dangerous. Sadly it is true and it’s not just restricted to face skin care creams. It is in fact the case that a wide range of cosmetics, personal and beauty products, shampoos and soaps contain ingredients that may not be good to your health or for your skin.

I give you a quick example. A recent study found lead in over 50% of big brand lipsticks tested in the study. I’m sure you know that lead is not at all good your health. It accumulates in your body and can have nasty consequences for your health. And yet major well-known worldwide big brand named companies are still using lead in their personal products such as lipsticks. Of course they argue that there is not much lead there however personally I would prefer to be none. The problem is serious enough that in many countries, particularly in the European Union, lead is now banned in lipsticks.

The same applies to many skincare products. There are suspect ingredients in many anti aging products that in some cases are “known to cause cancer”. It is not just restricted to lead.

How can it be that many face skincare products contain suspect ingredients? Doesn’t the FDA protect us against dangerous ingredients in products which we put on or into our body? No it doesn’t and it is not required to. It isn’t required to test personal products such as skincare products and it’s not required to satisfy itself that products are safe to use.

So if you’re looking to improve your skin and to find a range of face skincare products that are not only effective but are also safe to use on your skin how you do so? Fortunately there are niche skincare companies that produce natural face skincare products with an emphasis on safety as well as efficacy. They produced products that are made up a wide range of naturally occurring ingredients that are firstly known to be safe and are secondly known to be very effective at promoting optimum skin health.

He is an example of two of the ingredients that are used in such natural face skin care products.

1. Phytessence Wakame. Phytessence Wakame he is a seaweed found around the coast of Japan. It is packed with a very wide range of essential vitamin and minerals necessary for optimum skin health. It is no coincidence that Japanese women have the best skin in the world and that Phytessence Wakame is a big part of the Japanese diet.

2. Cynergy TK. This is a patented product made from the wool of New Zealand sheep. The principal benefit of using face skin care products that have Cynergy TK as an essential ingredient is in its ability to stimulate the skin to produce collagen and elastin. As your skin ages it loses it’s store of collagen and elastin which up to skin proteins essential for maintaining skin elasticity. A reduction in skin elasticity leads to skin sagging, fine lines around the mouth and eyes, wrinkles and other signs of poor skin health. This is because the skin gradually loses its ability to replace elastin and collagen which is lost with ageing because the skins ability to produce more collagen and elastin is degraded with age.

The traditional way that this problem is tackled in mainstream skincare products is to add collagen and elastin to the bottles that are found on the shelves of the department stores. But it has been known for some time that the molecule size of collagen and elastin molecules is too large to enter the skin and therefore these proteins just remain on the surface. So why would these companies put collagen and elastin in the bottles? Because they know that consumers who see this listed on the label will buy the bottles.

It’s a sad indictment on our corporate philosophy that major companies producing products that so many women use every day are prepared to put ingredients in their products that are suspect to the health of their customers. However we are fortunate that there are small companies that are prepared to tackle the problem and to produce products that are not only very effective but also very safe to use. It is possible to buy natural face skincare products that are safe to use, worked very effectively, and are cost competitive.

However these small niche companies cannot compete with the big brands in the normal way. They cannot compete against saturation television advertising because they do not have the marketing budget. Therefore these companies, one small niche skincare company in particular that manufactures excellent safe and effective face skincare products chooses to compete on product quality rather than on marketing budget.

And to prove their commitment to their own products they even offer a moneyback guarantee on all their face skincare range. Try getting that from one of the big brands.

If you’d like to find out who they visit my website.

By: Peter Wilson

The quest for a beautifully radiant skin does not always have to be expensive. Having a radiant and youthful looking skin is just about any woman’s dream. The multitude of beauty products on the market which promise to deliver these results is concrete proof of this never-ending quest. However, the majority of these commercially prepared beauty products are expensive. This makes a lot of women (and men) wonder whether looking good really requires one to spend all those hard earned dollars.

But the truth is beautiful skin does not necessarily have to be achieved by using commercially prepared beauty products. Why not try looking in your refrigerator or kitchen cupboards for more affordable yet highly effective solutions?

You heard it right! Look inside your kitchen.

Fruits and vegetables undeniably do wonders for your skin. There is a whole range of fruits and vegetables available for every skin type and for every skin problem you might be dealing with. For our purposes, let us focus on the more problematic skin types – the oily skin, the dry skin and the combination skin.

Let us now explore this wonderful opportunity to achieve the flawless skin we have all been dreaming of!

Oily Skin No More

Excess oil on your face can be a source of embarrassment and can lead to other more serious skin conditions. Prevent this by considering these suggestions:

. Remove excess oil by mixing 2 tablespoons of wheat flour with the right amount of water and apply this on your face using an upward circular motion. Leave on for a few minutes before rinsing with cool water.
. Cucumbers can also offer great relief from oily skin! Grind half a cucumber and extract its juice for your face pack. Apply the juice onto your face and leave on for a few minutes. Rinse with water and pat dry. This can refresh and tighten your skin effectively!
. Aside from removing excess oil from your skin, fenugreek and red gram seeds can help remove blackheads. Simply soak 2 to 3 teaspoons of fenugreek or red gram seeds overnight in clean water, grind into a paste and apply onto face. Leave the face pack on for about a few minutes (until it dries up) before rinsing it with cold water. The excess paste can be stored in the refrigerator for future use. However, be sure that you use the fenugreek mixture within a week and the red gram mixture within two days after preparation to maintain its efficiency.

Moisturize Dry Skin

. Poppy seeds and peanuts both contain natural oils which can help nourish and moisturize dry skin. You can soak the poppy seeds overnight in water and grind it with milk to make a paste. Or if you want to use peanuts, you can grind 3 to 5 tablespoons of raw peanuts and add milk and ¼ teaspoon of honey to it. Apply your chosen mixture onto your face, leave it on until it dries and then rinse with water.

. Bananas can also provide great relief for dry skin! Simply mash half of a ripe banana and mix it with about a teaspoon of honey to make a paste. Apply onto face and rinse after a few minutes. The mixture is a great natural moisturizer and will help tighten your skin!

. Want to keep your skin supple? Try massaging fresh milk. Apply it using a gentle upward massaging motion. Leave on for a few minutes then rinse it off.

Combination Skin – Is It Twice the Problem?

A combination skin is usually dry in the cheek areas and oily in the T-zone (the forehead, the nose and the chin). However, achieving a healthier skin is not impossible. Consider these suggestions:

. One great solution can be achieved by mixing 3 to 4 tablespoons of Fuller’s Earth (Multani mitti) with 8 to 10 pieces of mint leaves. Freeze the mixture overnight and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes prior to use. Apply the mixture onto your face and leave on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with water.

. Ice it! A handful of lemon grass boiled in a liter of clean water and kept in the freezer can also be a great alternative. Rub a lemon grass ice cube onto your face after coming home from work of after an outing to cleanse away the dirt, which accumulates in your skin.

By: Michael Russell

With an all natural skin care routine you can look just as good at 50 as you did at 30 – and by looking after your skin at 30 you can look just as good as you do now when you reach 50.

Some people think women of 50 are ‘past it’ but being over 50 myself I enjoy life, am happy with my lifestyle and content with my appearance., I’m not conceited, but dislike media pressure to look 20 years younger. Looking good is about making the most of yourself whatever your age. When we look good, we feel better. People looking after themselves usually glow with good health and lead busy lives.

The facial image a woman presents to the world is not only how she sees herself but also how she wants to be seen by others. Women soon learn tricks to improve upon nature, experimenting from an early age with make-up and hairstyles, and finally discovering and developing their own individual style.

Women literally ‘put on their face’ to brave the world. But some women find this process difficult, confused by the variety of beauty products and intimidated by the superior air of some beauty consultants.

Some older women become depressed, feeling information and advice dished out by magazines is aimed at ‘youngsters’ and that they’ve got nothing left to give or get. Others find that their confidence wanes as the years go by, they stop trying new products or ideas, play safe with old beauty favorites and are too nervous to make changes.

Even with natural skin care techniques, it takes time and money to face the world. When it comes to skin care and beauty products, making mistakes can prove to be very expensive. We might assume that after tears of practice, mature women wouldn’t make elementary mistakes. But apparently this is not the case, as women’s magazines have seen an increase in requests for makeovers and advice from women over 50.

Many mature women regard it as frivolous to spend money on themselves. As a result of divorce or bereavement, many women who are over 40 find themselves returning to work, while others suddenly become the main breadwinner, when a husband or partner is made redundant. These newly independent women look for ideas and advice to update their image, but often find themselves having to compete with youngsters of around 18 years of age, both in the workplace and in their social world.

Most of us are interested in the latest thinking, advances and techniques in the skin care and beauty business. But to benefit from these, you need to be honest when you look in the mirror and realize that your life and look is constantly changing. Be objective when you face your reflection and learn to appreciate your good points. Only then can you concentrate on, update and improve areas that, with the passing of time, now need a little extra help.

By: Michelle Moran
